The Rialto Bridge and marketsStart your day in the Rialto Bridge, one of only three bridges to cross the Grand Canal and by far the most famous. Savour the views on both sides, but in particular on the east side. Afterwards soak up the atmosphere around the Rialto Markets where fruit and fish are sold to tourists and locals alike. Take a traghetto over to the Cannareggio district and take pleasure in streets with fewer tourists. Various highlights in this part of the city include the Jewish Ghetto and Ca' D'Oro Also in this district, Paradiso Perduto serves great cicchetti (Venetian tapas) and gets extremely lively after dark.

Another of the city’s attractions that shouldn’t be missed is the beach on Lido, just 15 minutes from St Mark’s Square via ferry #1.
